Based in Sydney and originally from Tāmaki Makaurau, Amberley is a writer, producer and stylist whose connection to fashion began at a young age. After being scouted as a model at 13, she has built a career that spans modelling, fashion journalism, styling and brand storytelling. Having experienced the industry from both in front of and behind the camera, she brings a thoughtful perspective shaped by curiosity, collaboration and a genuine love of fashion.
Having experienced fashion from both sides of the camera, Amberley's understanding of the industry has shifted with time. “Being older and working in different roles, you have a far greater appreciation for what a critical part each person plays,” she says. From styling assistants to creative directors, every contribution shapes the final outcome. It's this collaborative process — and the opportunity to play a small part in the ever-evolving fashion landscape — that continues to draw her back.
For Amberley, the most compelling fashion stories are never just about clothes. “Fashion can seem superficial, but it's always a reflection of what's happening around us,” she says. In a landscape saturated with content, she's drawn to stories that reveal something deeper — where style intersects with culture, politics and human behaviour, and where what we choose to wear says as much about the moment as it does about ourselves.

Eating – My partner is dairy-free and we recently tried this new plant-based bakery in Stanmore called Ard. They have the most insane cinnamon rolls and cakes – I am still thinking about them.
Wearing – Right now I’ve been wearing a couple of new pieces I got from Friends with Frank. They’re a Melbourne label and I just love everything they’re doing right now.
