Can you please introduce yourself - who you are and what you do
I’m Sophie de Renzy, a fashion and lifestyle content creator based in Auckland. I’ve always been drawn to the little things - like a perfectly tailored blazer, a well-styled space, or a quiet detail that most people might miss. I love capturing those moments and sharing them through fashion and content. My style is minimal and tonal, and I’m always looking to find that balance between effortless and intentional. I also work in marketing and events at The Diamond Shop, where I get to bring a lot of that creative energy into the world of fine jewellery.
Do you have a favourite piece or item in your wardrobe that holds sentimental value?
My diamond studs have this effortless way of making me feel polished and put together, even on days when I’m not. They’re understated yet elevate any outfit, making me feel confident and ready to take on whatever comes my way.
How do you approach self-care amidst your busy schedule? Are there specific rituals you swear by?
I like to think of self-care as something that’s woven into my day, not just an added task (although this isn’t always the reality). Exercise - a walk or a Sala class being my absolute favourite - moving my body is really the only way to clear my head. I also swear by skincare rituals; a few minutes in the morning and night with the right products is non-negotiable for me.
What do you think are the most important conversations happening in the fashion industry right now?
I am really excited about the return of NZ Fashion Week - not just for the designers but the wider creative community too. There’s something really powerful happening behind the scenes, and I think that’s thanks to the incredible team now at the helm. They’re not just reviving the event, they’re redefining it; giving platform to new and old voices (Karen Walker is back on the schedule which really just says it all), prioritising inclusivity, and putting local talent at the forefront. It’s an inspiring time!
Are there any brands, designers, or creatives you’ve yet to collaborate with but would love to work with in the future?
I’m forever inspired by creatives who are building brands with a strong sense of identity and purpose. Locally, I adore what Paris Georgia and Harris Tapper are doing - names that feel grounded in their identity but are always evolving. Internationally, I would jump at the chance to work with St. Agni. I’m really drawn to their minimalism, it’s quietly confident which I love.
Outside of what you’re currently doing, are there any other areas or industries you’d like to explore?
Writing has always been a constant for me - it’s the creative outlet I naturally lean into, and is something I want to explore in a more intentional way this year. I also have a dance background (which is such a past life now), but I’ve been feeling quietly drawn back to that space as of late. I feel most myself when I’m moving, it's a form of expression that still feels very connected to how I create.
What are some upcoming projects or goals you’re most excited about?
There’s a lot in the works, but I’m particularly excited for Australian Fashion Week with The Diamond Shop - it’s such a moment for the brand and a creative reset for me too. Beyond that, I’m hoping to carve out more time to write, to create for the sake of creating, and to say yes to more projects that really energise me. More movement, more expression, more connection - those are the goals.
