Olivia is a single mum to two beautiful babies, Luca (8) and Coco (5), and the woman behind Breakfast Babes, a vegan cake company based in Mount Maunganui. What began as a love for creating healthy, delicious treats has grown into a business rooted in joy, connection, and care.
When she’s not in the kitchen, Olivia finds purpose in movement—teaching reformer Pilates when she can, and helping others feel more at home in their bodies. It’s a thread that runs through everything she does.
Right now, Olivia is in a season of growth. Personally, she’s finding her feet and feeling proud of how she’s showing up for herself and her children.
Where are you currently finding inspiration?
Everywhere, I think there are so many incredible, inspiring women on social media doing really positive and uplifting things, as well as my peers. I have so many supportive people around me; NZ women in business are a different league.
How do you wind down, reconnect, or reset?
A long walk outside, disconnecting from my phone and sometimes from people, I often need time alone to reset. Yoga, pilates and sauna are also a fave too, Movement helps me so much, as well as the ocean and nature. I crave this after a long day in the kitchen.
What’s something you’re currently learning or hoping to learn?
My babies go to a full-immersion Māori Kura so I would love to up my te reo māori game.
What’s a small daily ritual that makes you feel grounded?
I love winding down by journaling and gratitude. Gratitude is a powerful tool; I think we must cultivate gratitude, especially in the small things. I practice gratitude with my kids every night, too.
What’s coming to life for you right now — creatively or personally?
I feel I am really finding my feet as a single mum, I feel proud of how I have been showing up for my babies lately and myself. My happiness is up to me, and I’ve really leaned into this year.. My Business is starting to really evolve. We are so quick to jump to the next thing, but this question helped me reflect on this, so thank you. A lot has changed since last year.
