Living in Sydney, Jane works as a freelance shoot producer and agent, representing photographers and directors across fashion and advertising — while also modelling herself. Her relationship with modelling has evolved alongside her body, moving from a size 8 to 16 and now settling somewhere in between. Watching how the industry responds to those shifts has been eye-opening, and she’s focussed on finding her place now as a size 12 — representing strength and confidence at every stage along the way.

Much of her inspiration comes from the people around her. Friends and family who take risks, start businesses, move cities, or try something new constantly remind her how powerful it is to surround yourself with people who challenge and inspire you. That sense of growth also extends to how she takes care of herself. As she’s gotten older, carving out time alone has become essential — switching her phone off, going for a swim, sitting in the sauna, or practicing breathwork to reset.

Recently she’s been reflecting on a simple idea that has shifted the way she approaches life: “Love casts out fear,” she says. “I recently learnt that every decision in life comes from either a place of fear or love, and how we respond — professionally, socially, romantically — really depends on where we’re at within ourselves.” It’s a simple concept, but one that’s shifted the way she approaches situations. “Reframing my reactions from fearful to loving has been really freeing,” she says, adding that she’s begun to notice the same dynamic in others. As she puts it, the older she gets the more those once-corny phrases start to make sense. “Love like you’ve never been hurt,” she laughs, “is my personal favourite.”

Her career path hasn’t been straightforward, but over the past year it has begun to feel like everything is slowly coming together. Looking back at the younger version of herself who took the leap into the unknown, she feels grateful she trusted the process — even when it felt messy. One lesson the industry has taught her that carries into the rest of life? Don’t cling too tightly.
